MARVEL at the HiPEAC Winter Science Festival 2022
On February 15, 2022, the EVEREST project organised the “Design and programming high-performance, distributed reconfigurable and heterogenous platforms for extreme-scale analytics” workshop under the umbrella of the HiPEAC Winter Science Festival 2022. The workshop provided the opportunity for six different projects to present their work and explain how they deal with extreme-scale analytics challenges aiming to define common paths for potential collaboration. The list included the following projects: EVEREST, SELMA, DAPHNE, CLOUDBUTTON, MARVEL, ELASTIC.
Despina Kopanaki (FORTH) and Stella Markopoulou (ZELUS) had the opportunity to present an overview of the MARVEL project and the MARVEL Minimum Viable Product. The presentation and the demonstration of the MVP triggered the interest of the 30 participants and valuable questions received about the processing and computational capabilities of the MARVEL framework at the three different tiers (edge, fog, cloud) and also about the protection of citizens’ privacy.
The representatives of the six projects agreed that they will meet again in the HiPEAC 2022 conference that will be organized in Budapest, Hungary in June 19-21, 2022, were the EVEREST project is organizing a physical workshop under the same topic.
