A Night of Innovation: Exploring AI Capabilities at Researchers' Night
In a spectacular display of science and technology, the Researchers’ Night at Trento’s Science Museum (MUSE) offered a hands-on look at the future of AI. Organized in collaboration with MUSE, Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), University of Trento (UNITN), and Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM), the event presented the public with groundbreaking research in an accessible format.
The E3DA team, representing FBK, provided attendees with a unique opportunity to interact with AI technology. One of the standout demonstrations was a microcontroller powered solely by potatoes, emphasizing our advancements in creating energy-efficient neural architectures. This setup was used to classify hand-drawn numbers, illustrating AI’s potential in resource-limited scenarios.
Visitors also immersed themselves in the fusion of art and technology. They experienced their faces transformed into Van Gogh masterpieces and participated in real-time face-swapping activities, stepping into the shoes of renowned personalities.
The event was a testament to the importance of public engagement in scientific research. By demystifying AI and showcasing its practical applications, we can inspire future generations to embrace and contribute to this dynamic field.
